How do you search for things on Google?
Do you type in the product you are looking for (in this case, mattress)? Or do you search in plural (mattresses)?
If you are anything like us, you search by region. If we’re looking for a mattress store, we usually type in ‘mattress store’ followed by the city, so in this case, mattress store Victoria.
Same if we are looking for a mattress. Just typing mattress, gets you to Wikipedia and pages from the US and around the world, but when we search for ‘mattress Victoria’ you get a list of the most prominent mattress stores in Victoria, BC. Including Mattress Choice, of course. In fact, in our searches, Mattress Choice is the store featured on the map. Is that the same with your searches?
However, the big question is – do you search for things on Google by product, and then region (mattress Victoria). Or do you search region and then product (Victoria mattress).
We would be interested in seeing some data as to what most people do. According to our stats and keyword results, it appears that most people search product first (mattress Victoria). Do you find the same?
