There you are, standing at the bus stop with your brief case, when you realize you forgot your pants. We’ve all had these dreams — the ones in which we suddenly realize we’re baring all our private parts in public. Nudity in these very common dreams symbolizes a variety of things, depending on your real life situation and your response to the realization that you are stark naked. Becoming mortified at the realization that you are naked in public indicates a feeling of vulnerability or shamefulness. You might be receiving the inner message that things you thought were concealed are actually quite obvious to others.

Your naked dream may also be telling you that you are trying to be something that you really are not. Or, you are fearful of being ridiculed and disgraced. Such anxieties are elevated especially in situations where you are trying to impress others. Perhaps you are in a new work environment or in a new relationship. You may be expressing fears or apprehension in revealing your true feelings in such situations.

Nudity also symbolizes being caught off guard. Finding yourself naked at work or in a classroom, suggests that you are feeling unprepared in your job or at school, or simply for making an important decision. Sometimes, when you are naked in a dream, no one seems to notice. They walk right by without even looking at you. This could mean that your fear is unfounded.

Naked dreams, one form or another, are usually about fear. Confront your fear — of being exposed, making a bad decision, being unprepared — and your dreamscape is likely to reflect your newfound confidence. You’ll be able to relax and get better sleep.
