Planning a big move this summer? Well you’re in good company.
The Crown Princess of Sweden and her new husband, Daniel Westling, now the Duke of Västergötland, are moving into Haga Castle, in Metropolitan Stockholm.
The pair were married on June 19th of this year, in the Stockholm Cathedral.
The Haga Castle was the birthplace of the present King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf. He spent his childhood there until the family left the residence in 1966.
Upon vacating the castle, the royal family presented their home to the Swedish Government. It was used as a guesthouse for foreign dignitaries up until this month, when the Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, gave it back to the Royal Family. It will now be passed to the Princess and her new groom as a wedding gift from the Swedish Government.
The castle itself was built in 1802 but was renovated in 1930.
We’re sure the Princess has a few plans of her own to bring the castle up to date. Our guess is she won’t be shopping at IKEA.
For your next move, Mattress Choice suggests starting with the most important piece of furniture in your new house; of course that would be your bed. You will spend more hours on your mattress, so choose wisely.
You may only dream of the Princess life, but you can fall asleep on a bed designed for royalty.
Come in and start your plans for your own castle.
